FUNDING OPTIONS

BFI Funding-
The BFI supports film culture across the UK. This includes investing Lottery funds in film development and production, and to increase audiences.
Open to young people from anywhere in the UK and from any background, the BFI Film Academy offers a chance for talented 16-19 year olds to be part of our future film industry.

iShorts-
iShorts is for new filmmakers and offers production awards of £5000 to help develop up to 20 short films. Filmmakers will receive editorial support, industry mentoring and networking opportunities.

Emerging Talent Shorts-
Emerging Talent Shorts supports directors or writer/directors. Proposed short films must have been developed to first draft or beyond, run between 10 and 30 minutes, and be achievable within a budget of £10,000 to £50,000.

Beacons-
Beacons gives new and emerging filmmakers the opportunity to test their skills, with awards of up to £15,000 and the chance to raise further funding through crowd funding or third party deals.

London Calling-
London Calling offers awards of up to £4,000 to new and emerging London-based filmmaking teams to produce a short film. Training and mentoring is provided throughout.

This research has showed me some of the options I have to fund my short film. However, as it was for our coursework and we was on a short time schedule we didn't have time to find the crowdfunding. This meant that we funded our film ourselves with a small budget of £30. Although I would decide to use iShorts to help fund my short film as they offer support and mentoring along with the chance to network the film.
